— About this chord

A#7b5 flattens the fifth of a dominant seventh for a whole-tone-flavored, ambiguous tension often used interchangeably with 7#11 voicings in modern jazz comping. It works well as a tritone-substitution-adjacent color chord and adds harmonic interest to otherwise plain V7 movement. Also searched as Bb7b5.
