A#sus2
Sus2Also known as: Bbsus2
About this chord
A#sus2 (B♭sus2) has a bright, open, slightly unresolved shimmer—more airy than major, less brooding than minor, giving a dreamy, floating quality. Heard in pop and rock ballads for lift, indie and ambient for spaciousness, and EDM buildups for tension without heaviness. Its suspended color can hint at cinematic Western or modern Nordic indie atmospheres rather than strong cultural idioms. On guitar it often needs barre or movable shapes; on keys it’s an easy, clean voicing. Commonly used as a pivot or pre-chorus chord, it delays resolution to A# or A#maj7, adds color in I–sus2–IV moves, and works as an intro pad or loop-friendly drone.
